SOS Teen Suicide Prevention Conference (February 1-2, 2010)
Signs of Suicide (SOS) is a conference for professionals who interact with teens on a regular basis.

Late-Life Depression Seminar (February 3, 2010)
Location: The Pyle Center, 702 Langdon Street, Madison, WI,
Time: 8:30–9 am—registration; 9 am–3 pm—workshop
Fees: $100/workshop includes instruction, materials, credit, refreshments, and $20 nonrefundable administrative fee. Lunch is on your own.
Educator: Art Walaszek, MD, a board-certified geriatric psychiatrist. He is an assistant professor at UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health.

Approved hrs/continuing education credits/workshop: 0.5 CEU = 5 hours of professional continuing education.

3rd Annual HealthWatch Wisconsin Conference (February 8 & 9, 2010)
"Back to Basics: The Proposed BadgerCare Plus Basic"

Join the staff of HealthWatch Wisconsin, ABC for Health, and area experts as we gather to review the latest health reform news and explore the proposed BadgerCare Plus Basic buy-in program.  We will also discuss outreach and advocacy strategies for working with Wisconsin's health care consumers and dig into issues like functional screens, new private health insurance rules, health literacy, and health disparities. Network with agencies, providers, academics, health care journalists, and legislators committed to assuring a more sufficient, competent and coordinated public health workforce.

The 2010 National Convention Committee is now accepting proposals for workshops to be presented at the convention. The deadline for submitting a proposal is December 1, 2009.  Workshop presenters are eligible for a discounted registration fee.
