Did you know that approximately 80% of psychotropic medications are prescribed by primary care physicians? WUMH is producing a web-based training directed at the primary healthcare environment. Persons with mental illnesses often report feeling stigmatized because of their illnesses and report that their symptoms may be minimized or misunderstood. The module we are creating will raise awareness about communication styles, treating the whole person, and consumers/patients as informed self-advocates.
