Parents who have a Mental Illness

Many adults with a severe mental illness have a family.  Some estimate that three-fourths of these parents will lose custody of their children for at least some period of time.

To see how these parents are being supported in Milwaukee, learn more from the Invisible Children's Program of the Mental Health America of Wisconsin.

To learn more about helping parents with a chronic mental illness visit Mental Health America's website.

The following link contains basic information on Children of Parents with a Mental Illness (American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry).
